Why opt in?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Generate revenue with credits <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Organizations who produce or use clean transportation fuel in New Mexico may be eligible to generate credits through the Clean Transportation Fuel Program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants can sell those credits at the market price for revenue, bank them, or use them to comply with the program. Installing or operating electric vehicle chargers, supplying renewable diesel, or electrifying a fleet are all examples of ways to generate credits.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fuel credits<\/strong> are earned by supplying clean transportation fuel, such as: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Biofuel,  <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Renewable diesel,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Renewable natural gas,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Hydrogen, or  <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Electricity.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Equipment credits<\/strong> are earned by expanding clean fuel supply equipment, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Residential electric vehicle chargers,  <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Non-residential electric vehicle chargers, or  <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Renewable natural gas refueling stations. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Project credits<\/strong> are earned by reducing transportation-related emissions in other ways, such as: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Installation of solar panels on facilities that produce transportation fuel, <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Carbon capture and sequestration, or <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Expansion of public transportation. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        How utilities and EV manufacturers can use credit revenue<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        Under the program, electric utilities and electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers must use revenue from selling credits to further decarbonize transportation in New Mexico. Examples include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Expanding EV infrastructure <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Promote EV adoption <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Give rebates or incentives for the purchase of new or used EVs in New Mexico<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Electrify fleets<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
