The Program Administration Group (PAG) provides overall leadership, administrative, and information management support to ensure the Drinking Water Bureau operates in the most knowledgeable, efficient and cost effective manner possible.
The Administrative Services Program within PAG provides administrative support to ensure the bureau programs function efficiently and effectively. Activities include data entry, mass mailings, vehicle coordination, records (files) maintenance and management (paper and electronic), maintenance of policy and procedure documents and special projects such as compiling legislative information packets. These activities ensure that the Drinking Water Bureau (DWB) meets its program objectives in an efficient manner and that technical staff are not burdened with administrative tasks and can spend their time on programmatic endeavors.
The Quality Assurance Program within PAG establishes and maintains the DWB’s quality system, which defines how planning, implementation, assessment, reporting and quality improvement should be conducted within the Bureau. The Quality Assurance Program ensures the quality of DWB work processes and products so that the public is provided safe, clean drinking water. Activities include: coordinating with DWB managers and staff to maintain the DWB Quality Management Plan and Quality Assurance Project Plans; providing Plan updates and approvals as required; conducting quality assessment and technical system audits to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of DWB processes; and, developing corrective action plans that address identified deficiencies. Additional QA tasks include laboratory certifications and processing of laboratory invoices. All of these activities ensure that the Bureau is actively evaluating its programs and processes and implementing improvements to streamline activities to use resources as efficiently and effectively as possible.
