Wash hands often

Proper handwashing is a key to preparing safe food. You should thoroughly wash your hands often while cooking including before handling food and after handling raw products.

Proper handwashing technique:
  • Wash with warm water and soap (any type)
  • Scrub all parts of your hands and under nails for 20 seconds
  • Thoroughly rinse hands
  • Dry hands with clean, disposable paper towels
