Stephanie Stringer Director Resource Protection Division
Stephanie has over 25 years of experience in technical and administrative areas of environmental management, with an emphasis in the water sector. Stephanie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Biology from the University of Texas and a Master of Arts in Entomology from the University of Kansas. Stephanie’s environmental management background includes technical/field assessments; data management and analysis; quality assurance/quality control; outreach and education; development of environmental regulations and standards; regulatory oversight, grant management and general program administration and management. For the past 6 years she has served as the NMED’s Drinking Water Bureau Chief where she managed the drinking water oversight, enforcement, assistance and sampling programs.
Stephanie is passionate about supporting the monitoring, protection, and restoration of environmental resources by implementing and developing appropriate management practices, policies, and regulations while fostering a healthy and productive work environment and developing community relationships.
As Resource Protection Division Director, Stephanie oversees the Department’s Hazardous Waste, Department of Energy Oversight, Petroleum Storage Tank and Solid Waste bureaus.
