{"id":7,"date":"2021-06-25T21:27:07","date_gmt":"2021-06-25T21:27:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.env.nm.gov\/gwqb\/?page_id=7"},"modified":"2025-11-14T11:41:55","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T18:41:55","slug":"water-fairs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.env.nm.gov\/gwqb\/water-fairs\/","title":{"rendered":"Water Fairs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>UPCOMING WATER FAIRS<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visit the NMED <a href=\"https:\/\/www.env.nm.gov\/events-calendar\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.env.nm.gov\/events-calendar\/\">Calendar<\/a> to find upcoming Water Fairs.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>To learn more about well ownership, testing, and maintenance, download this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cloud.env.nm.gov\/water\/?r=6549&amp;k=af0dd7d74c\"><strong>brochure<\/strong><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to collect a water sample for the water fair<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fill a clean glass or plastic container without any strong odors, with at least a quart or a liter (i.e. half a gallon) of your well water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the home has a whole house filtration system, collect the water at the well head prior to any filtration or softener systems if possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let the water run 2-3 minutes before collecting the sample.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill the container with water as close to the time of testing as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Come to the water fair in your community at the date and time specified above and complete the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/service.web.env.nm.gov\/urls\/iKkELaFT\">Well Test Form<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NMED will test for&nbsp;arsenic, electrical conductivity, fluoride, iron, nitrate, pH, and sulfate&nbsp;and mail your results in 2-4 weeks.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>NMTracking by NMDOH<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Environmental Public Health Tracking program, also known as &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/nmtracking.doh.nm.gov\/\">NMTracking<\/a>&#8220;, by the NMDOH is the premiere resource for environmental and health data and information in New Mexico.
