Spring 2016 River Data  (posted Sep. 21, 2016)

Final Data – NMED SWQB data previously posted as preliminary or provisional has now been validated and verifyed through our internal QA/QC process. The updated and complete data files are posted below.

NMED data from sondes deployed in river channel and water samples collected and analyzed in the lab.  Instrument data and water samples collected by NMED field staff between 8/7 and 8/14.  Note: spikes on 8/10 were caused by the sondes being downloaded and recalibrated, and on 8/14 from instuments being pulled from the water.

NMED staff collected water samples on August 10 and 11, 2015 from two locations on the Animas River and one on the San Juan River (downstream of the confluence with the Animas).  The samples were collected for heavy metals and associated parameters (e.g., hardness) related to the Gold King Mine spill.  All results indicate that New Mexico water quality standards for all uses of the rivers, including those for drinking water, primary contact (bathing) and aquatic life, are being met.

Follow this link to view provisional/preliminary data files that were posted between Aug 11 and Sep 24, 2015.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  In order to provide timely access to data, we are posting information as we recieve it. Any surface water data collected by NMED, posted on this page, and marked PRELIMINARY or PROVISIONAL has not been through our internal QA/QC procedure.  Final data files and reports will be posted in the coming weeks after validation and verification.  For reference, our data collection and data quality assurance SOPs are located on our website at:  www.env.nm.gov/swqb/SOP
