Funding cycles are open as funding becomes available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clean Water Act Section 319 Implementation and Planning Funding<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.env.nm.gov\/surface-water-quality\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2026\/02\/319-Fact-Sheet.pdf\">Federal Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 319 grant funding<\/a> <\/strong>is available annually for<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Watershed Planning <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On-the-ground implementation projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Request for Applications (RFA) Federal Clean Water Act Section 319(h)<\/strong> Watershed Project Implementation- <em><strong>Coming Fall 2026!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Request for Proposals (RFP) Federal Clean Water Act Section 319 <\/strong>Watershed-Based Plan Development \u2013 Released October 17, 2025, closed on December 18, 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.env.nm.gov\/surface-water-quality\/river-stewardship-program\/\">River Stewardship Program<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.env.nm.gov\/surface-water-quality\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2025\/05\/RSP-Fact-Sheet-3.pdf\">River Stewardship Program<\/a> started in 2015 to provide funding for the planning, design, and construction of projects to enhance the health of New Mexico streams and rivers by improving surface water quality or river habitat.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>River Stewardship Program RFP &#8211; <em>open March 19th- May 21st, 2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Watershed Protection Assistance Program <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.env.nm.gov\/surface-water-quality\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2026\/02\/Watershed-Protection-Assistance-Program.pdf\">Watershed Protection Assistance Program<\/a> was developed to assist in the development, construction, maintenance and monitoring of projects that improve surface water quality, riparian habitat or aquatic habitat. Eligible entities include vendors who are active on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.generalservices.state.nm.us\/state-purchasing\/statewide-price-agreements\/\">Riparian, Aquatic, and Wetland Restoration Services Statewide Price Agreement<\/a> (40-00000-23-00037) or other applicable price agreements, National Association of State Procurement Officials, GSA schedule awards, or local public bodies (e.g., municipalities, counties, or political subdivisions of state or local governments).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications accepted year-round and reviewed for funding<strong> April 15<sup>th<\/sup> and October 15<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> each year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that applications and supporting documents are being updated and will be available for the April application deadline. As the Administering Agency of state and federal grant funds, NMED SWQB is under obligation to proactively monitor contracts to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations governing the programs to be administered.
