Recycling and Illegal Dumping Grants--Re-opened

The New Mexico Environment Department is now accepting applications for a third application period for Recycling and Illegal Dumping Grants for scrap tire abatement, management, and education projects as well as projects that stimulate the recycled/reused scrap tire market. Funds totaling $62,265 are available to eligible entities. In an effort to receive proposals for significantly impactful projects, we are seeking applications for projects that will incur the total $62,265.

The Recycling and Illegal Dumping Alliance is prioritizing:

    • Large scrap tire dump cleanups
    • Major amnesty events
    • Projects/purchases resulting in regional management of scrap tires
    • Projects utilizing rubberized asphalt (The grant fund may be used to make rubberized asphalt 10% less expensive than conventional paving products.)
    • Projects utilizing crumb rubber products
