SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

NOW ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL RECYCLING AND ILLEGAL DUMPING ACT GRANT APPLICATIONS

The New Mexico Environment Department is now accepting applications for a second round of Recycling and Illegal Dumping Act grants for scrap tire abatement and recycling programs, illegal dumping abatement, and recycling of other solid wastes until 5:00 pm on Friday, May 27, 2016. Applications may be located by selecting Grant and Loan Programs to the left. Funds totaling $437,546 are available to municipalities, counties, tribal governments, land grant communities, cooperative associations, and solid waste authorities. $328,332 of the grant fund is available for scrap tire management, and $109,214 is available for illegal dumping abatement and recycling projects. Ineligible entities are encouraged to partner with eligible entities.

Applicants must be able to complete their projects by June 30, 2017. Multi-year projects may be completed in phases. Matching funds and in-kind contributions are not required but are encouraged.
