NOTICE REGARDING FY18 SOLID WASTE FACILITY GRANT APPLICATIONS

The Solid Waste Bureau expects to begin receiving FY18 Solid Waste Facility Grant Applications in April after receiving notice from the Legislature regarding the approval of a final budget. Questions regarding the Solid Waste Facility Grants should be directed to the Solid Waste Bureau Chief, Auralie Ashley-Marx, at (505) 827-2775 and auralie.ashley-marx@state.nm.us.

CHANGE IN REQUIREMENT TO SUBMIT ANNUAL REPORT FORMS FOR REGISTERED COLLECTION CENTERS ONLY

Effective January 1, 2017, the owners and operators of all registered Collection Centers in New Mexico are no longer required to submit any completed Solid Waste Annual Report forms to the New Mexico Environment Department - Solid Waste Bureau on or before February 14 of each year as specified in the Solid Waste Rules 20.9.5.16(D) NMAC. Collection center operators must continue to maintain operating records of the amounts and types of waste accepted at the site in accordance with 20.9.5.16(D)(1) and (2) NMAC and/or at another location (government, administration, or business office). The letter below is being mailed to all registered collection centers. It serves as a waiver that suspends any registration approval condition requiring the submittal of annual reports as long as the letter is kept in the operating record along with the registration application and correspondence for each approved collection center as long as the facility is in operation.
