The Upper Rio Grande (Part 2) TMDLs

Final Approved Version

Go to the FINAL DRAFT for the Upper Rio Grande TMDLs - Part 2...

SWQB requested a 30-Day Public Comment Period to begin for the draft TMDLs at the January 11th, 2005 Water Quality Control Commission (WQCC) meeting.  Responses were accepted until Thursday, February 10, 2005.  Those comments were incorporated into the WQCC-Approved Draft, which was accepted by the WQCC at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 in Santa Fe.  The USEPA sent New Mexico its approval letter for the Upper Rio Grande TMDL (Part 2) on June 2, 2005.

The Upper Rio Grande (URG) watershed from Cochiti Reservoir to Pilar, New Mexico requires five separate TMDL planning documents on four discrete reaches:

Embudo Creek - Turbidity & Stream Bottom Deposits

Little Tesuque Creek - Metals (chronic aluminum)

Rio Grande - Turbidity

Rio Santa Barbara - Turbidity

The full 95-page document has been divided into 17 separate AdobeŪ AcrobatŪ files for faster downloads:
