Join the Workforce
The second goal of the strategic plan is to develop a workforce supporting uranium mine and mill reclamation. NMED is currently working with industry and educational institutions to connect experienced individuals with current job openings and develop workforce training programs for those with minimal or no experience.
New Mexico Environmental Job Training Program
NMED is partnering with employers across New Mexico and collaborating with San Juan College to advance uranium reclamation efforts through educational initiatives. They have partnered to develop the Careers Remediating Environmental Waste (CREW) program, which is a multi-week certificate training program aimed to establish a New Mexican workforce to clean up neglected uranium mines.
