Uranium Mining & Reclamation in New Mexico
Join the Workforce
The second goal of the Uranium Reclamation 2024 Strategic Plan is to develop a workforce supporting uranium mine and mill reclamation. NMED works with industry and educational institutions to connect experienced individuals with current job openings and develop workforce training programs for those with minimal or no experience.
New Mexico Environmental Pilot Job Training Program
NMED is partnering with employers across New Mexico and collaborating with San Juan College to advance uranium cleanup through education, certification programs, and micro-credentials. The first pilot program, the Careers Remediating Environmental Waste (CREW) program, is a multi-week pilot training program aimed to equip workers with the skills necessary to jump start a career in environmental cleanup work.
A number of potential funding opportunities and support services are available to ensure student success. If interested, please contact cwd@sanjuancollege.edu or (505) 566-3121 to schedule an appointment with a career professional who can review your eligibility, funding options, and need for support services.
