The Environmental Improvement Board (EIB) adopted updated petroleum storage tank regulations, including changes to delivery prohibition,

effective July 24, 2018.  The EIB originally adopted regulations in 2012 to implement delivery prohibition requirements mandated by the federal Energy Policy Act of 2005 and House Bill 81 passed by the 2010 New Mexico Legislature. The regulations authorize the Petroleum Storage Tank Bureau to prohibit delivery to a tank or facility that has one or more significant violations involving equipment that protects against releases including spill prevention, overfill protection, leak detection, or corrosion protection.
