The following forms will assist you in assuring ill employees are restricted or excluded properly to help further prevent product-borne illness.

Food Handler Cards are required for “Manufacturing Employees” (see definition below). Hemp facility employees who engage in the activities outlined in the definition must have a food handler card. The card must be kept in the person’s possession while working, or on file at the hemp facility for CHB review during inspections. Food Handler Cards must be obtained from an accredited food handler training program. Please ensure the course approved for NM is taken by employees.

Manufacturing Employees that do not possess a Food Handler Card when they’re hired have 30 days to obtain one. When this occurs, the employee must receive food safety training applicable to their job duties prior to working. This training must be provided by an employee of the hemp facility where the manufacturing employee is employed.

“Manufacturing Employee” means an individual working with unpackaged hemp, hemp extract, hemp intermediate product, or other ingredients used to produce hemp finished products, processing equipment or utensils, or surfaces that contact unpackaged hemp, hemp extract, hemp intermediate product, or other ingredients used to produce hemp finished products.”
