The Utility Operator Certification Program (UOCP) will evaluate water and wastewater certifications from other States and Tribal Authorities for certification equivalency. Requests for an Equivalency of a water or wastewater certification involves confirmation of previous experience and requirements met for determination of the appropriate level of a New Mexico Certification(s).

IMPORTAN NOTICE:  Before you can proceed with your online payment, a UOCP staff member will send to you an email notification confirming the Certification details and the FEES due. As soon as you receive this email notification, you will be given 3-days in which to pay.

Please also be sure to include copies of the necessary items listed below with your application:

  1. Copy of your current water or wastewater certification(s) to be evaluated for equivalency.
  2. Copy of High school diploma or GED certificate or high school transcripts showing graduation date (in lieu of a high school diploma) … and/or
  3. College transcripts (if attained)
  4. Copies of training completion certificates for any water or wastewater training credits earned.

If approved, an approval letter from the Utility Operator Certification Program will be issued to the applicant stating an equivalency certification(s) for New Mexico is awarded.
